Place an 8” round, double layer cake on a 10” cake board and base ice with white icing. Using a Decorating Comb, comb the sides vertically from top to base to create ridges.
Using a spatula or knife, texturize the top of the cake. Make the front 1/3 of the cake look like water by creating “waves”; make the middle third have texture of a beach and mound just a little bit of icing in the back to create some small mounds that will be grassy areas for trees to sit on.
Using Hawaiian Blue Airbrush color, airbrush the top front section of the cake to create water. Add a couple of more saturated, squiggly lines, to look like waves or ripples in the water.
Using Neon Green Airbrush color, airbrush the back “grassy mounds” on the top of the cake and around the entire perimeter of the side of the cake.
Using Golden Brown Airbrush color, airbrush the top middle section of the cake to create a sandy beach.
Using Open Star Tip #32, pipe a Sunset Orange shell border around the top edge of the cake. Don’t pipe the border over the water, using Piping Tip #10, pipe a wavy border there using Sky Blue icing.
Using Piping Tip #5, pipe five petal flowers on the top of the cake. Use Princess Pink, Sunset Orange, and Neon Purple icing. Pipe a variety of flowers on the beach and grassy parts of the cake.
Add groups of 2-3 flowers on the sides of the cake, close to the base. Use Piping Tip #5, and Princess Pink, Sunset Orange, and Neon Purple icing.
Using Piping Tip #3, pipe dots in the center of each flower with Lemon Yellow icing.
Using Piping Tip #10, pipe a Neon Green barred border on the base of the cake.
Using Small Grass Tip #133, pipe Neon Green grass on the grassy part of the cake.
Using Leaf Tip #352, pipe leaves around each flower or group of flowers using Leaf Green color.
Place the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse figurines on the sand. Add the sand sculpture pick on the edge of the beach and the grass areas behind Mickey and Minnie. Finally, insert the trees into the grass at the back of the cake.
Pipe inscription if desired.
