These Lil’ Shoppies are aglow on this brightly colored jumbo cupcake. With bows sparkling with sprinkles and the Shopkins Shopping Spree PhotoCake® Edible Image Strips surrounding the base of the cake, this yummy treat will wow party goers. Base ice 8” double layer square cake white.
Apply Shopkins Shopping Spree PhotoCake® Edible Image Strips to the sides of the cake.
Tip: for easier application, cut the strip in half and apply. Image having trouble sticking? Spray the application area with a fine mist of water.
End with a gap on the backside of the cake to leave room for a gum paste bow.
Assemble a 6” double layer round cake using Golden Yellow between layers. Carve the sides of the cake at an angle to create the look of a cupcake.
Transfer your jumbo cupcake to a 6" cake board.
Base ice jumbo cupcake Golden Yellow. Before smoothing the top, add vertical lines of texture to the sides using an angled spatula.
Add four dowels to the center of the square cake and stack the jumbo cupcake on top.
Add a 4” single layer round cake to the top of jumbo cupcake. Base ice and smooth with Golden Yellow icing.
Using Piping Tip #807 and Sky Blue icing, pipe a row of large teardrop shaped dollops around the 4" cake.
Using Neon Bright Green icing, pipe a second layer of dollops.
Add a layer of Princess Pink and finish with Golden Yellow.
Attach Yellow Fondant DecoShapes® Strips to the base of the square cake using clear piping gel.
With Piping Tip #10, pipe a Neon Bright Green bead border around the square cake and jumbo cupcake.
Immediately after piping, add sprinkles to the bottom bead border and base of the cake board.
Cover the sides and center of a gum paste bow with clear piping gel using Piping Tip #3. Dip the bow in sprinkles.
Make a second sprinkled bow for the back of the cake.
Add the first bow to the top of the jumbo cupcake.
Attach the second bow between the image strips to the back of the cake using a dot of icing on either end of the bow.
Place 5 I Love Shopkins Cupcake Rings around the top and sides of the cake.
Using Piping Tip #807, pipe Princess Pink icing on the top of the cupcake. Dip into a bowl of sprinkles to cover.
With the same piping tip, pipe a pink swirl. Top it off with an I Love Shopkins Cupcake Ring.
