It's Dad's special day! So make him a sweet treat that matches his exact style. Whether he spends his time in his workshop, devotes Saturdays to the course, loves the sweet retreat of morning fishing, grills up the best burger on the block, or rocks a masculine stache, we have five different cupcakes for you to choose from to say "Happy Father's Day" to an amazing dad.
Using Piping Tip #234, pipe neon green grass onto the top of the cupcake. Tip: Start around the edge of the cupcake first and work your way in.
Using the large Black Fondant DecoShapes® Dots, gently press one into the middle of the cupcake.
Add a Golf Ball 2D Cupcake Ring next to your fondant dot.
Tip: If you are making more than 10 cupcakes, use one sheet of Black Fondant DecoSheets® (instead of the DecoShapes Dots) and the 1.5 inch Round Cutter. Simply press the cutter the fondant sheet, and Voila! You have a perfect fondant circle for your cupcake.
Using Piping Tip #807, pipe white icing onto the cupcake and smooth the top with a spatula.
Create a cross hatch pattern using red red icing and Piping Tip #3.
Add green sprinkles to the sides of the cupcake. Tip: Apply sprinkles quickly before icing starts to set.
Top it off with Hamburger & Hot Dog DecoPics® cupcake picks.
Create Black Cake Lace using the Fishnet Lace Silicone Mat. Don’t worry if your cake lace breaks when peeling it off the mat – it will be cut into pieces later! Tip: Learn to create cake lace three different ways.
Create a striped piping bag using sky blue and white icing. Tip: To create a striped icing bag, add sky blue icing to one side of your bag and white to the other.
Using Piping Tip #1M, pipe a sky blue and white swirl on top of the cupcake. Tip: Start from the middle and work your way out.
Cut a square piece of cake lace and scrunch into a messy bundle to create the look of fishing net. Push into the side of your icing swirl.
Attach a Fishing Lure & Bobber Cupcake Ring next to or on top of the fishing net.
Using Piping Tip #807, pipe two layers of icing: red red icing as the bottom layer and neon green icing as top layer. Tip: Get creative with colors! We also used teal green as a bottom layer color and neon green icing for the top layer.
Cut out a 1 inch portion from the Brown Fondant DecoShapes® Strips. Cut in half to create two 1 inch strips.
Using Piping Tip #1, pipe wavy lines of brown or chocolate icing over the top of the fondant strips to create a log effect. Tip: Set out fondant strips beforehand to harden up a bit. They will lay better on the cupcake if they are slightly rigid.
Lay logs over each other on the front of the cupcake. Add a Tools DecoPics® cupcake pick behind the logs.
Using Piping Tip #807, pipe two layers of icing: neon green icing as the bottom layer and white icing as the top layer. Tip: Get creative with colors! We used teal green, sky blue and red red as bottom layer icing colors.
Cut out 2 - ½ inch portions from the Blue DecoShapes® Strips. Trim the sides to create a triangle shape.
Attach each triangle to the front of the cupcake to create the look of a bowtie. Pipe a small sky blue dot in between the fondant triangles using Piping Tip #8.
Top the center of the cupcake with a Stache Bash Cupcake Ring.
