How-To Make Class Photo Graduation Cookies

What You’ll Need

  • 1 Dozen 3.5" Round Sugar Cookies
  • 1 Large Sugar Cookie
  • 2” Pre-Cut Custom Photo PhotoCake® Edible Cake Images
  • DecoPac Premium Color of choice
  • Knife & Scriber Tool
  • 2 Bags Royal Icing
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Numbers Cutters
  • Water
  • 12" Pastry Bags
  • Scissors
  • Step 1

Using your favorite sugar cookie recipe, bake a dozen 3.5" round cookies and one large cookie. Allow to fully cool.

  • Step 2

    Royal icing

Prepare Royal Icing following package directions.

Tip: Be sure to use a clean bowl to mix. Any oil/grease will cause icing to separate.

  • Step 3

    royal icing

Place 1/2 cup of Royal Icing in a separate bowl. Add DecoPac Premium Color of choice.

Tip: Place colored Royal Icing aside and be sure to cover with a wet towel to prevent icing from drying out.

  • Step 4

    Icing cookies

Using a 12" Disposable Pastry Bag, fill with white Royal Icing (or color of choice). Immediately ice cookies and allow to set until icing is hard.

Tip: To prevent icing from spilling over the sides of your cookie, draw an outline around the outer edge of the cookie using Royal Icing, then fill in.

  • Step 5

    Add photocake edible image

Add small dab of Royal Icing to the back of the PhotoCake® Edible Cake Image and place on the center of each cookie. Gently press image down to adhere.

Tip: Roll your sheets of PhotoCake® Edible Cake Images on the edge of the counter to loosen the images and allow for easy removal.

  • Step 6

    Icing cookies

Using a 12" Disposable Pastry Bag, fill with red Royal Icing (or color of choice). Cut a very small tip off the end of the bag. Begin piping dots around your grad's PhotoCake® Edible Cake Image.

  • Step 7

    Cutting shapes out of cookies

Using a shaped cutter, cut out desired numbers from the large sugar cookie. Cut out as many as desired.

  • Step 8

    icing cookies

Tip: To avoid icing from running off the sides of the cookie, begin by piping an outline along the edge and then fill with icing. A Knife and Scriber Tool can be used to create intricate designs.
