Tips, Themes, Tools, etc.Easter is an exciting time of year not only because of the religious traditions that surround it, but a new (and hopefully warmer) spring season. This year, invite your friends and family to celebrate all things spring with a delicious brunch, Easter cakes, and especially outdoor fun with the anticipated Easter egg hunt. We’ll help guide you along your way so your Easter celebration is the hit of the season!
Keep your invitations simple and inexpensive by having kids trace spring and Easter inspired cookie-cutter shapes out of constructions paper and decorate them. Be sure to include the time to come, and if you plan on pot-lucking your brunch, be sure to ask them to bring something. It helps to be specific on the invitation such as please bring a side dish to pass; otherwise you could get stuck with too many desserts or appetizers. Mail or hand-out invites a few weeks in advance to help your guests plan.
We like to keep our brunches simple so it’s more fun to prepare and eat than stressful to keep up with. We prefer the traditional spring/summertime foods like potato salad, noodle salads, veggie trays, coleslaw, and grilled red potatoes. It also helps to keep with foods that are fresh in season, some of these include strawberries, sugar snap peas, asparagus, carrots, cherries, onions, spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and blueberries.

Prepare your plastic eggs with small toys, jelly beans, wrapped candy and cupcakes a few days prior. Plan to prepare about 12 eggs per guest. On the morning of the Easter celebration, divide your yard into two areas. The front yard for the younger children and the backyard for the older kids.
Hide eggs for the younger kids on low branches, tall grassy areas, and other easy to reach areas. However, for the older kids, show no mercy! Tuck them in pipes, trees, anywhere you think would be difficult.
Most importantly, have a great time, enjoy the warmer weather, and of course a delicious piece of cake!
