If your child is anything like mine, then you know that they already have their birthday party planned, and their working on the next one. Take inspiration from your child’s excitement about their special day, a few tips from us, and you’ll have your boy’s themed birthday party planned in a cinch!
If your son is older (4+ years old), then you probably already knows what he wants as a theme for his birthday party. If he’s not, then try to choose a theme that is tailored towards your child’s personality and temperament. Some of the most popular boy’s party themes are:
If you’re planning on having food other than cake, we suggest keeping it simple not only for you, but for the children. Most children usually don’t have sophisticated tastes, so if pizza is preferred, then make it fun for the kids by buying a bunch of plain pizza’s and having them decorate using veggies and pepperoni. If you are thinking sandwiches would be easy, try cutting them into shapes with cookie cutouts.
However, the BIRTHDAY CAKE is the most important, and the most fun, aspect of the party. The birthday boy isn’t the only one who looks forward to the cake! Choose a cake based on the theme of the party. Here are some of our favorite birthday cakes based on the most popular party themes shown above:

If you have a theme ready to go, then the décor should be quite simple. Many of the cakes we offer have party décor and favor bags to go with them that you can find at most local party and retail stores.
Games and other activities are a great way to help release birthday party energy. If the party is in the winter, some great games are pin the tail on donkey (relate it to the theme of the party; i.e. pin the tail on the dragon), musical chairs, and freeze dance are always popular choices. In the summer you can utilize the outdoors by planning an extravagant treasure hunt for pirate parties; potato sack races, egg-in-a-spoon running races, and hide-and-seek are great choices. Piñata’s are great for indoors and outdoors, and are always a crowd pleaser as well.
The most important aspect of any birthday party is to keep it fun! Create a stress free environment by planning ahead, and try to keep the party to 2 hours. Get your birthday boy involved in the planning process too! Kids are great helpers and can have lots of great ideas about their party as well.
